What are your other sources of income both personally and within your marriage/significant relationship?

I have relatives by marriage that think having the most expensive home they can own is worthwhile because of the interest deduction, but the deduction + appreciation is less than the cost of what they spend on the house, not to mention the opportunity losses by blowing all your money on a massive house.

Generally speaking; ANY property acquired during marriage, however-so titled, is presumed to be marital in the latter.

Be very carful how you structure your financial relationship as marriages have a tendency to fail, as with many partnerships, and you need to protect yourself.

This was not an investment purchase but my wife's residence prior to our marriage.

We also would perform the trim out work on the marriage line in double and triple wide homes.
