Splitting off to a JB that's intended for a hard wired wall hung microwave or an exhaust fan would be a violation, USBs not sure.I spoke to one inspector and his reaction was he would overlook it since its not hurting anything but he might question it if he sees a dedicated one, such as a receptacle with nothing else but 4 USBs.Anyways, one or two local inspector's opinions may not mean much.

I couldn't find anything but cosmetic wrong with it when I did my walk through, and once I had it under contract, the inspector only found very minor things.

I would suggest that whatever house you purchase you get your own house inspector so you don't minimize any future surprises.

By being an active agent you do that - you start to know the agents, the lenders, other investors, home inspectors, appraisers etc.
