There’s a massive gap between the haves and have nots in both places that leads to things like petty theft (perhaps even more of a problem in Costa Rica than Mexico), and even armed robberies and home invasions (getting more common in Costa Rica lately).

I’m curious...your average annual returns are nearly identical between the two different scenarios, but the rental scenario obviously requires much more work/time/headache to obtain those returns.
