Because I know that you can simply convert currency but I know it's more than that because house prices don't directly equate because house markets are so much different I've heard, do you know if this is true?

I'm visiting with family this weekend, so do not have a lot of time to go find them all, but will try to pull the information together into a blog post in the next 2-3 weeks.One additional consideration which has arisen in the past 3-4 months is the shift in the relationship between the CAD and USD - I sold USD at 1/1.2245 last week and the currency jockeys are indicating we could see 1/1.18 before the end of May.
