Killeen is the biggest town between Austin and Dallas, and part of the Texas Triangle that I don't see a lot of instability in anytime soon.I love the strategy of buying a multi-family with the VA loan, btw.

Just stay in the triangle of Truckee, Hwy 89 and Hwy 267 and it should do pretty well so long as you have a good property with good customer service in place.

Not sure if you have considered it but we are experiencing a major growth all over Texas but more specifically within the Texas Triangle: Dallas-Ft Worth on the north side, San Antonio on the lower west side with Austin-San Marcos-Round Rock in the middle and Houston on the east side.

Now, if you are interested in cash flowing properties in NOVA, the markets you can try to look into are around Fredericksburg (all I-95 corridor south of Woodbridge until Richmond) and the triangle Manassas-Gainesville-Leesburg.
