my neighborhood doesn't support granite...again going for durable and cost effective.Paneling - the living room has paneling and i was thinking about just painting over it and not risking pulling it down and opening the pandora's box that MAY lie beneath.

Open the cabinet doors beneath all sinks to try and allow warmer air to circulate in.

I then cut shims to level the slope, then glued and nailed the shims to the top of the joists.

I would remove trim on one side IF the screws didnt immediately fix it Put all 3 " screws with proper shims behind.

Shimming joists so there is no movement in them and decoupling work but it is harder to achieve then other types of noise control.

Because like some other companies, their fire policies insure the property based off of cost to rebuild and won't let you reduce the coverage limit too far beneath that.

If you can address the sagging from beneath, you will have the option to redo the floors, which is most certainly your cheapest option.
