We have already shown ourselves time and time again to be reckless consumers, so I don't think it would be insane if revenue collected under this system actually increased.

As the Euroskeptics have been pointing out across the pond, we have these global elitists world government types, which the administration is fully part of, setting aside their domestic best interests, and taxpayer money, chasing some goal of a unified economy in which the rich and responsible help the poor and reckless (ala Greece).  

In the second scenario, I am worried about the kinds of reckless tenants a college town attracts, and it would mean a longer commute to work for me. 

Instead of punishing Wall Street, the burden of compliance forced all the smaller firms out of business which benefited the big players who'd supposedly been so reckless a few years before.As far as its effect on business and investment, just look at the sluggish "recovery" of the last 8 years for evidence of an economy shackled by over-regulation and bureaucracy.

@John Robert Kinsella, it is way reckless to value, or purchase on short term rental #'s.

I brushed it off and moved on.That sure didn't go as I expected, but that was okay because there was an enormously successful speaker to follow and surely he'd make this evening worth the trip.OR NOTThe best way to describe him was reckless.
