Have you got any tips for refinishing louvered doors?

From the tenants perspective, I can't imagine anybody paying a premium for newly refinished cedar siding vs. new vinyl siding.

In a market where I can probably get a contract within days, is it worth spending the money on granite counter tops vs refinishing the laminate, upgrading from flat to six panel interior doors, etc.What has been your recent experience.

Depending on how upscale the home is, I would think sinks wouldn't make sense to refinish - I just bought a couple new ceramic sinks for our house and they were $40 each.

There is also hardwood floors throughout that I want to uncover and refinish.

Home also has large attic.How would you decide whether refinishing the basement and adding an egress window and/or finishing the attic into an efficiency or 1-bd would be worth it?

Unless you're looking at this as a learning opportunity you may find that the time and hassle involved in refinishing the floors yourself isn't worth the savings on an area that small.

.- new kitchen (countertops, cabinets, sink, DW) in one unit $5000- asphalt shingle roof about 20 yrs. old $6000- exterior paint (garage, rear porch) $1000- refinish hardwood floor (one unit) $1500- interior paint $1000- one unit's boiler (looks original!)

Now the place is totally spotless, painted inside and out, new carpet/refinished hardwood, new appliances, etc, etc. ready to sell!
