Personally, I'm hoping for some relief as we can't afford to buy anything worth a s%^& within 50 miles.

I spent the last 2 years working with a credit relief company to repair my credit score.

This also generates short term revenue, but it is pretty intensive, and (in my opinion) not the best strategy for par time investors that do not have a strong affinity with the industry (like for example that are already realtors, or contractors etc.) but that is an opinion.Then there are also investors who seek short term tax relief by buying a portfolio of properties that while not very profitable are in locations that will probably over time see a very nice growth in equity.

Look up SCRA, the Servicemembers Relief Act, as it sets out what you can and cannot do, in terms of evictions.

I'm still trying to get that first property, but I feel that after I do, it will be a big relief!

I realized they do not cover bursting of water pipes, breakage or operation of pressure relief devices etc.

In some counties, now including Wake, the clerk of court requires the plaintiff to certify via a SERVICEMEMBERS CIVIL RELIEF ACT AFFIDAVIT the tenant's status. 

For most borrowers, its a relief to close that chapter in their lives.
