We have had our secretary in place since the beginning (12 YEARS).Her husband a former fire chief; likes to "lead by intimidation".

I recently heard that the APD Chief was like "We need to be the highest paid department in North Carolina" or some similar quote.

We have started with local speakers for the first two meetings so that we can gauge interest but by spring hope to bring some big names to Syracuse to speak and educate us.

I had thought about Syracuse, NY because of the potential for student rentals.

Are there any meet ups in Syracuse, NY or close by.

In CA, we call this person the "chief building official".

A high-up fire chief quit saying he disagreed and one of the major fires had started small in mid-August and nothing was done until we got a wind storm a week ago that made it major.  3) While I have sympathy for those that lost their homes, like in Napa, building in the middle of a large forest isn't great risk management.
