I've noticed that quite a few brokerages say they will hire someone that doesn't currently have a license but is working towards one. 

Remember you're going to want reserves, and any bank will largely require 3-6 months of expenses in a cash account (although some banks like mine allow a Roth IRA or brokerage to stand-in for cash reserves, so make sure to ask about that).

Keep in mind, not all Brokerages have the need to do REO sales, but I can put you in touch with some contacts I have here in Monmouth County if you're interested (not your ideal location, but might be worth the connection). 

There is no such thing as being a broker in DC without obtaining a broker license.The code provision you cite exempts certain people from needing to obtain a license, even though they appear to be providing what may be considered brokerage services under DC law.

Once you feel comfortable, then jump ship to a cheaper brokerage. 

Also, each brokerage and MLS chooses whether or not to syndicate to Zillow and I know many that have removed their feeds following Zillow's "instant offers" decision.

Hello fellow Real Estate Professionals,I just passed my brokers exams in Colorado, and am now searching for a Brokerage to hang my license.

If you were to bring other buyers and sellers together for a sale then you would need to join a brokerage. 

BTW, you take the course, pass the course test, take the state test, then you have to join a brokerage, then you can join the realtors association/MLS.
