I was there as well, as a newbie – it was good to meet with people who I normally connect with over the phone or e-mail (mostly on the supplier side), I got confidence in what I am doing and on the road I took with these kind of investments, some speakers were good (mostly on the first day), some less, the important thing was the mingling I guess.

I think your best bet might be looking for a turnkey supplier.I did a google search for the best markets the invest in rental real estate and you see a few great options (I see Miami is some of the lists so I think they might be basing it more on recent appreciation and not the availability of deals.Once you identify a market, a good turnkey supplier can get you an easy in.Bob
