That said, if the cost is prohibitive for you and you're strapped for cash there's other ways you can demonstrate that you're serious.

if front to back you should be ok, if they join in the center then a supporting header will need to be installed, either below, flush with hangers, or above in the attic and strap the joists to the beam.

@David Krulac  what I like about us lifelong real estate junkies is the interesting way we all started.not many with silverspoons.. pretty much we all boot strapped it.. did some apprenticing and then worked smart and diligently and somehow the harder we worked the luckier we got.
