Obviously, painting would have to be done no matter what route I choose.I do like the addition of the brick to the bottom, I pondered that from the start, and if I go with option 3 there will be plenty of room to have it done.

I've run across this many times, and personally don't like the idea of a window in a shower, for a couple of reasons.First is privacy...even if with obscure glass or glass block, without some kind of black-out curtain, you can still see when someone is in the shower (and usually even the diff between boys and girls, if y'know what I mean).
