The downside of a Heloc is it’s an adjustable rate, usually more expensive than fixed debt, the bank can freeze/close your line (rare but possible, it happened in the GFC).

Hi Fernando, If you had a "Moen Flo" it would have called your cell phone and told you there was a leak as soon as it started.I assume a pipe broke in the freeze, and they didn't notice it, or just ignored it.Good Luck!

@Morgan Gruelle there is a freeze on evictions, but there are also provisions to deal with tenants who are a risk to the property or don't have COVID hardship.
