From a financing perspective on the property types you've mentioned, condos are the most problematic.

Charlotte is a tough market from a cash flow perspective because price points are so high, but some surrounding areas are proving fruitful.

The way I've seen this work from a cost savings perspective is to hire an overseas bookkeeper to do the busy work, but also have someone higher level available to answer questions and to record the more complicated transactions.
