.- My landlord is over reacting to maintenance cost,  I have lived  here for two years and those have been the only two major repairs. 

Especially in oak hardwood floors (the most common) that were originally finished with wax, cat urine will eat through the wax and react with the tannins in the floor to create a dark spot.

When every body was doubting me and telling me not to do it, i didnt  let any of that discourage me.

I don't understand how the governing body figures waiting three months for the sheriff coming out to be reasonable - and you have to pay them a fee on top of it!

Had I not received anything like that, my body language and tone would have changed to hint to them that they do not want me as a landlord.

I believe in a free market, but if the government does not believe in a free market, the government should be the one paying the associated costs.I believe the reason for rent control is not because the politicians believe it results in positive long term benefits but because the mass of constituents who are reacting to sometimes large rent increases believe it is a good thing.

I will be scouring deals from now until next summer (2021) to get used to running the numbers so when a good comes along i'll know it quickly and can react fast.   

So just wondering if I am over reacting, if this is normal in other counties, and if anyone has dealt with Vallejo and their permit process?
