Like every other aspect of our society, our culture sells lifestyles and lifepaths to people regardless of class, when income disparity is great than ever.

The cultural / political venues are strikingly different for sure.I've lived farther southeast of Jacksonville @ the Atlantic Ocean in  PonteVedra Beach and it all seemed like south Georgia to me.

Yes, people are drawn to urban centers for jobs, but they are mostly drawn there for the culture, vitality, education, and the intersectional opportunities of those places. 

It's a culture that's both bohemian and egalitarian.

I´m biased towards Tampa and think it offers a more diverse economy and a more varied culture (not to mention stunning beaches).  

I know the New Orleans neighborhoods, area, and culture as it were on the back of my hand.
