Inventory is tight right now - but long term it has a large enough population base and recreational opportunities are abundant. 

Family, work, pending wedding, and recreation has ground me to a halt.

All -I have a unique opportunity with a company acting as a property management company, who happens to offer luxury accommodations for cannabis retreats in legal recreational markets (think STR/LTR property management firm). 

When they move, they want to recreate Brooklyn hipster life as much as possible, so that means walkability and being able to do things without a car.  

Depending on your area cabins or camping might be a low cost start. if you get it designated as a tree farm there were some tax advantages in NY I don't know about RI.It .is a big recreational area in RI but it depends on what you are near.

That said, I am drawn to Anchorage for its setting - views of the Chugach, Sleeping Lady, the Alaska Range, Cook Inlet, Turnagain Arm, proximity to "the real Alaska", and recreational opportunities like Kincaid Park, Far North Bicentennial Park, and Chugach State Park - while having the amenities of a mid-size American city.

We (my wife and I) had been looking for a partner to go in on a property, but couldn’t find one, so moved forward; we made an offer on a second home that we will also use for AirBnb short term rental when not using ourselves in a market 2 hours away that we visit often for recreation. we have just closed, and now we have a friend who has offered to go in on the deal.
