I would hope that these two industries continue to pave the way and help fuel regional growth, but I don’t really like to speculate too much.

- If you want to only make money the method your Dad has in the market he has then probably listen to him, otherwise don'tI think it is important to ask what's your goal with investing and what is your time frame, and also, ask is playing the waiting game in the family business worth the downside of not getting started straight away, paving your own way for success in a different market, and  having to deal with family regularly.I personally would strongly consider taking your savings, moving away from your Dad and to a market where you can stretch your dollar the furthest.

One problem with mini-storage is the cost to have employees both provide counter service and to watch over the property 24/7 365 days per year and someone needs to be on the property all these hours, or your units will get broken into and then you will be in hot water.While you save on water, sewers and a hundred other issues you have to deal with when dealing with dwellings, you have several expenses for damage to the rollup doors, driveway paving that is super expensive, flooding inside storage spaces during major down pouring of rain, 24/7 security problems and costs due to the fact that scumbags jump fences and break into the storage units because they know people store very valuable items, leaking roofs, damaged rollup doors, dealing with people who don't pay their monthly fees and you have a lot of legal issues regarding how you have to dispose of their items by sending proper legal notices and then you have to auction the items.

The folks that have paved the way are above & as I mentioned they aren't cheap.

I think Tesla has paved the way to change how auto manufacturers are going to look in the future.. like in Scandinavian countries they out law gas cars after 2022 I think all cars have to be electric.
