Tenants HATE cameras when it is a SFH or duplex but on larger properties they welcome the cameras because it makes them feel safe.

Hello,A job relocation to San Francisco CA early this year is making me ponder if I should be selling my owner occupied duplex in Jersey City and buy something in Berkeley CA due to its proximity to San Francisco and has some fairly decent schools  for my kids and also UC Berkeley .The low  2.5% interest rate on the Jersey City property turned into a golden chain but I think I am done with managing tenants and property and would like to get more into an Equity play.

Jack MillerI have not had any tenants not pay rent, but I have seen rents soften for multi family and condo rentals (roughly 5-10% decrease in rental rates). 

I run an air BnB out of my home in Southern Vt And I own 2 condos at Mt Snow. 

This is my second duplex and I do not have experience renting to someone in this situation.

We are looking to acquire an SFH that can be converted to a multi-unit duplex or a SFH in need of rehab that could be converted to a multi-unit duplex.

I've been exploring options for a multifamily property, single-family homes, and even a luxury condo that could work as an Airbnb.My primary goal is to find an investment that has good potential for profit and tax benefits for this year.

However, it won’t generate rental income like a duplex or multi-family property.
