Given that you are a medical doctor thinking of quitting the profession (or at least leaving for a while), your situation is different in some way than the ordinary joe who has spent his life being told he is no good, will never amount to anything, is stuck in 9-5 rut, or soul killing middle management position etc.

Believe me as a combat veteran it's something that burns at your soul but if a person refuses to protect themselves who's going to do it?

The only thing I would add on point 4 is that self driving cars don't solve the real problem with commutes, which is hours of soul sucking time spent in a car.

Besides, for $20 you can buy a book that the author and editors poured their heart and soul into, usually for longer than a year.

When you are dealing with a significant other that is unsupportive it can be so so draining on your soul so also remember to take care of yourself and not let your dreams dwindle.
