Back when I was brokering commercial real estate 100 years ago I had a deal on a small office building fall through when during the walk thru just prior to closing the buyer insisted on checking the candy vending machine and verbally to;d us and sent us a follow up letter informing us that he wasn’t going to close because the Baby Ruth’s in the candy machine were stale.

had a guest who somehow was able to "book" my place on airbnb and then get my check in email instructions for their one night stay. but the payment never cleared somehow and the booking was then stopped by airbnb but they already checked in.

I've had VA loans where we only have one paycheck prior to closing, and one even where the first paycheck came in right after closing but we otherwise confirmed that work had begun before closing.
