Being able to introspect about yourself and use other people's advice from their life experiences is super tricky.I heard Brandon Turner repeatedly say not to build multiple bridges at once, and that is EXACTLY what I did (tried to wholesale, broker, contractor, flip, etc.) and had to learn for myself. 

The broker may not want you to do that or may have other restrictions. 

I would connect with a few lenders on here, find one local mortgage broker, and then call around to several regional banks and credit unions.

I just make sure I have plenty of liability coverage and talk to my insurance broker about any additional coverage that could protect us.

I work in a small, private brokerage that also just opened, although the broker has been in the field for about 22 years.

A great broker, property manager, lender, flipper, etc. can open many doors for you and allow you to leverage their networks.

Some brokers get them for you. 

I get contacted every now and then by a person wanting a corporate rental meaning that they are just brokering my space to third parties for mid term stays.

I've been working exclusively with other investors and have my license hung at an awesome investor friendly brokerage (shout out to Wayfinder) with lots of great brokers who all have different expertise.
