A water heater at Home Depot is around $400.

Home Depot is at least 10 to 20 percent more expensive.  

I have been thinking about getting a job at Home Depot of something like that while I go to school and avoid touching my saving.

After rehabbing my first house and endless trips to home depot that is definately something i want to work on.

An investor on one of the BP podcasts said if you are looking for a contractor go to home depot at 6:30 am those are the guys you want. 

It may demand a high quality renovation or what I call a home depot renovation.  

As others have said, Hialeah is a great area to consider...North Miami and Miami Gardens are also excellent rental areas, but I don't know which would be most convenient for you distance wise.

Start to understand what the cost of materials are...that might mean you have to go to home depot and study what things cost!
