@Alan CasillaI am invested in Austin TX and have never invested in Columbus Ohio so there may be some bias in my response.High level, San Antonio and Columbus are two different markets.Texas is generally considered a growth market with exploding population and jobs coming there.Ohio and the Midwest are generally considered more stable value plays.

Mark Bascetta sorry, just saw this. i grew up in CT and just moved to texas 2 years ago. i live in houston. to be totally honest, i like the numbers in new britain better than houston. however, houston is exploding with growth and CT is not. as you can imagine, the massive growth down here does not yield cheap properties. i’ve had success in CT and plan to continue that.

The seller (your friend) will *still* be on the hook for the loan, and if this deal doesn't explode before the end of the year, when they do eventually foreclose, they'll likely get a tax bill they wouldn't have without your involvement, *in addition to* dealing with this agent/broker.
