We have no interest in contact data gathering, as that space has been well developed. 

It's no different than their 2-year, low interest rate teaser houses.

When the house eventually sold, I contacted the buyers agent and explained it to him so he could be the hero with his clients and show them how they could save a bundle on their property taxes by appealing and getting that corrected!

Why can't you contact them and ask these questions?

The reason why I ask is because that could determine what loan options are available to you (and interest rates). 

For the $525K property, with the low mortgage rate(you will probably never get a such low rate), it might make sense to hold onto it for now, especially if you can still sell it as a primary residence within the next three years and avoid capital gains taxes.

I've been looking at a lot of smaller towns around Cleveland, Ohio and have noticed there are a lot of seemingly decent cash flow properties, but more around the 1.5-1.8% rate.

My firm has several lenders who can seamlessly close in 15 days on 'traditional' mortgages at/below market rates and we've been doing so for a couple of years now. 

This year I contacted him and said no more salt.
