Hi im a Marine vet.

I live in Marin county, CA, and she in the east bay.

We are looking for a home to live in for one year somewhere between Marine Corps Base Quantico and Washington DC.  

When my husband was active duty he was stationed in Camp LeJeune so I know a few Marines/sailors who live in Jacksonville area but nobody really in the Raleigh area.

  $2600 rent for a house in Anaheim is a steal compared to $3800/Mo for a 900SF 1BR + Den in San Rafael (No Cal) in Marin County.  

The trends, demographics and business outlook (expanding corporations like Comcast, marine terminal investments and favorable tax abatement policies) of the city are promising, hence the investments in these lower priced neighborhoods.Good luck with your decision!
