I am currently on episode 27 of the bigger pockets podcast, about a third of the way through The Book on Rental Property Investing, and thought it would be a good time to finally “plug into the BP culture.”

I remember reading Aristotle the philosopher saying he thought that societies, cultures, and governments should be influenced and ran by and for the benefit of the middle class.  

I used to know this Irish girl who had a house in Florida; she would leave to Mexico every 3 months, for the day then return.

For safe starters, I’d start south in the McKinely Park Bridgeport area(by Sox park and on the proverbial “come up”), then back up north west along the 90(if possible) through the humboldt park area (historically rich in Puerto Rican culture but on the path to gentrification) up to Jefferson Park.

I also had a huge culture shock in two directions 1) the revelation that mobile home parks were nothing like I had learned about on TV (which showed them in a negative light) and 2) the knowledge that the demand for affordable housing was huge, as I would get sometimes ten calls a day with customers looking for a cheaper place to live. 

I liked the legal work much better, but the structure and culture is very similar.
