If the conversation gears towards STRs, share 1-2 tips/anecdotes that can add value to them... the same can be applied to other business owners/contacts made during the meeting.

You didn’t mention they weren’t so I’m assuming they are taking care of the property but this is something I’d probably let slide, your time to take a stand was 5 years ago.  

There are actually large builders developing entire complexes geared to shared common areas, but private rooms, and of course just shared homes like the Golden Girls. 

My instinct tells me that housing geared towards students must be posted somewhere specific, and you'll have to search for it. 

So the mystery still stands!
