@Jaimyn Chang I don't want to speak on behalf of anyone in the post I was referencing, but I think it had more to do with the fact that it's technically mortgage fraud to use gift funds for an investment property; even with the two months of seasoning, if there's no intention on repaying the funds, then it's still technically a gift.

@Folami McLeggon-Gordon  I think in the case of the wealthy Chinese investors, they've enjoyed considerably high levels of appreciation by investing in Hong Kong, Singapore and other areas and have concerns that such valuations may not hold.
