There is a good chance that the velocity of sales slows, but I would not count on prices falling drastically.

What you go on to describe here is the money-multiplier effect, or "monetary velocity".

We are in a situation right now where M2 is expanding rapidly but velocity is cratering. 

The first being that the shorter the hold period the higher the IRR and the velocity of money is increased.The second is that the majority of a sponsors compensation comes after a capital event (sale/refi) when they get into the "promote" or carried interest. 

Still, you want to continue the velocity of your money.
