I've sifted through dozens of investor packages from Canadian LPs and REITs and am looking for recommendations from other investors. 

I'm not a fan of all the facebook pages that tend to draw people away from this site and they are full of junk.On the other hand, BP provides a TON of information for free if you're willing to sift through it.I like to see how many posts/votes a user has, but would really like to see how many properties or units they own/manage!

@Stevo Sun Account Closed This is my hesitation with Reddit, it's hard to sift through the reliable information from those that just want to have an opinion regurgitating something they heard from someone else. 

Many opportunities (ways) to hit the target (find people) vs. just one.If you are seeking SEC Accredited Investors and your social circle does not include people like this, you will need to find a way to meet them somehow, and sift for the ones who may be interested in a Real Estate Opportunity.Good Luck!

"Sorry we decided to go another direction" I usually put a test in the Craigslist ad as well just to sift through someone I wouldn't want to work with anyway.

There are pockets of good and bad areas but without a local hand it'd be extremely difficult to sift through neighborhoods and understand what kind of deals you're looking at.

I agree with the people above that the C class and C+ class deals would be the best bet, but it takes a lot of sifting to get the "screaming" deals.Section 8 is the way to do it because the rent comes in like clock-work.Another suggestion I saw was also excellent; "house-hacking."

They get to sift through it all and they win a promotion if they get you convicted.

I use excel for a lot of things, but to image having to look at a list of 200 and try to manually sift through it to find the correct criteria for a property would have me pulling out the little hair I have left.

I've spent countless hours sifting through the MLS to get a feel for what's available.
