Of course You'd have to run the gas lines which is not really that bad anymore with the flexible gas pipe.The fireplace chimneys should be separate thru the chase.I read Your post and I thought that You should know what I know, and that is sooner or later some one WILL try to start the wood burning fireplace with gasoline, it's only a matter of time.
