Between all of the set up work, creating your listing, responding to guests, setting door codes, scheduling cleaners, paying bills, reviews etc it is not hard to log 2+ hours per week.

There's no mention here of material participation and if their income isn't fairly high, there are probably better strategies and it might be a greater benefit to them to spread that depreciation out over a standard schedule.

My last few years on the "day job" before I retired, the absolute worst part was looking for and hiring employees. 50% or more would not even show up for the interview they scheduled, and wouldn't let you know. 50% of the ones that did show up were such dead wood when they got in there that it was obvious why they were unemployed.
