Investment Info:Small multi-family (2-4 units) buy & hold investment in Grand Rapids.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a lawyer in Michigan, preferably the Grand Rapids or Mid Michigan area?  

Seek out departments and non-profits that work with the homeless in your community and ask about the Rapid Re-Housing program.  

I see fewer deals from wholesalers in this area.I haven’t looked much at the other areas in the state, such as Fort Smith (third biggest city, cheaper houses are easier to find), Northeast Arkansas (I’ve heard it’s growing rapidly), and Conway (close to Little Rock, but I’m calling it out because I’ve heard it’s had tremendous growth in the last 20 years).In addition to Bigger Pockets, you can find Facebook groups for Arkansas real estate investors.

We are currently in the process of doing the exact same thing on another property in Grand Rapids.

However, due to rapid appreciation (27% YoY) you can refinance them fairly quickly.

The Gastonia area is in a rapid development phase, and is bound to see some great appreciation in the coming years (not to mention, the numbers work there more often than not).

I’m new to real estate investing and I’m looking to invest in the greater Grand Rapids area.

Detroit is slowly falling off the map and has been for decades...this isn't changing, Phoenix is next level...high growth and rapid appreciation...i.e. unaffordable...and Plano is not really an option unless you are looking at serving affluent tenants...I think Columbus is head and shoulders above any of these markets...it's arguably the premier investment destination in the US right now.

I guess my $40k would be 'trapped' and I'd be building it back up rapidly.
