While you find one once in a blue moon downtown, most of them I would consider compromised, meaning they don't sit on a full lot with a driveway and off street parking/garage.

If you're really dead-set on having your mortgages paid off in 15 years though, perhaps a good compromise would be to put them on 30-year mortgages but make extra principal payments as if they're 15-year mortgages.

In the end we compromised after getting advice from a local mentor that we would sell the house and use down the payment for our next project and seller finance to keep some cash flow over the next few years and try to maximize our total return on the property.If you have differences in opinion I would definitely love to hear them and how you would execute.
