This can include opening some walls here and there so the inspector can check if everything is built to code, then you repair or tear down depending on what they find. 

They developed an accreditation process and published a code of ethics.

The inspector came in and said - you now have to bring all these window casings up to code.  

If your focus is on land development, my advice would be to place a greater emphasis on learning the zoning code. 

Check local zoning laws and building codes to ensure converting the basement into a separate apartment is permissible.

They obviously don’t want STRs in the neighborhoods but have put in place zoning codes that they are comfortable with allowing STRs and developers have taken that challenge and built specific STR developments on properties with those allowed zoning.

Basically it was the zip code my property is in, and going out 5 miles and there were still only 6 that came back and 2 of those show leased (vs. active or pending which I can't submit as a rental comp).
