I'd be surprised if the electrical hasn't been updated since 1920...if there is still knob and tube wiring in place, I'd want to get that replaced/updated ASAP.

Currently the lower unit has Fin Tube Heating which was installed incorrectly and thus the previous tenants had $1200/mo heating bills and still froze inside most the rooms, the upper tenants have forced air along with insulation in the attic and have not had these problems.

Listening to podcasts, you tube videos, and reading books and message boards I often hear it discussed, don't try to learn everything before jumping in on the first deal, yet it's also pointed out that it's foolish to start investing without some education.

Unless someone has been in there recently it is guaranteed they are not grounded and are may even be knob-and-tube wiring.
