It's such a disgrace to the whole system that so much money has been allotted for assistance and yet somewhere it's being just kept on hold with the cost being families losing their homes and in Mississippi they might even be having to return millions to the federal government since they're not dispersing the funds they received....clearly this system is/has failed.

As a reservist in the Air Force you don't get VA benefits unless one of these three conditions are met. (1) You have allotted 6 years in the service as a reservist (2) you have been on active orders for 90+ days consecutively (3) {Correct me if mistaken} Accumulate 2 years of active duty time. those are my 3 options and I'm opting for the #2 option 90+ consecutive days of active duty time.

We did some research and his info was pretty accurate so we went ahead with the purchase.Defiantly some lessens learned, number one would be to know your market, if we would have check new home sales, we would have found that these types of properties weren't selling...as fast has existing homes.I believe a team in everyplace you invest is invaluable, our friend in florida helped allot, not sure if we could pull it off without hiring a property manager, without him.This was my first long distance purchase , at this point i dont think that i would buy anyplace i could easily drive to, again.

I would partner up with a great contractor down there, and an agent and lender if you need help with the funds on the property, and start running the numbers of Purchase Price, Rehab Budget, and projected ARV and see if it makes sense for the money you need to allot for the project.
