I'd particularly appreciate input from anyone who's been in a similar boat.

If I was determined to follow my expensive dream like this (maybe think of it in terms of wanting to buy an expensive luxury item like a boat or a car) then I would put off acquiring it until I have built a better base of income and savings.

When your other dentist/doctor buddies invite you to their boat, are you going to pay 5-6 figures to buy a boat to join them next summer?

I am hoping things change soon here in California as I am in the same boat.

@Daphne Williams I'm in almost the exact same boat, I'm waiting until this fall to invest my money because I'm currently deployed but I just wanted to comment here to bring more attention to this post!
