It may be that Oklahoma has a domestic asset protection trust statute, but those typically require a professional trustee and other requirements.

I was able to get my domestic partner on the Deed… after negotiating with my lender and sharing how unfair it is for him to NOT be on the deed because he made the 3.5% downpayment. later on my lender apologized for the hard time they gave him because they looked deeper into it and in the state of Virginia a domestic partnership is the same as being married.

(Also, Some municipalities do have special rules that apply to victims of domestic violence)As far as breaking the lease early here's my (probably limited) understanding of the law: absent a clause in the lease that relieves the landlord of a duty to mitigate tenant's losses, under Ohio case law, the landlord has a duty to mitigate losses by re-renting asap and only charging tenant for time the property is not rented.

(it's not technically foreign but in legalese when a Florida LLC does business in a different state it is acting as a foreign entity as opposed to an entity domestic to that state).

There are “domestic asset protection trusts” (DAPTs) in RI but while cheaper than LLCs (no yearly fee) they’re also inferior in some ways (a 4 year look back period for assets placed into the trust, more complex than an LLC, likely more costly to set up).In most cases I’d recommend keeping it simple and just going with an LLC but obviously you should have this discussion with an attorney, particularly to fit the recommendation in with your overall situation, possibly estate planning considerations, etc.
