Diversification is rarely a bad thing.My advice would be to take some time to really hone in on your goals, needs, and expectations with regard to the tradeoffs I mentioned and let those answers point you in the right direction.

It is worth noting though that splitting the sum may reduce your risk because you're allocating your money to multiple sources rather than putting all your eggs in one basket (ie diversification).
