Samantha, I think she's saying you don't necessarily need one unless you're doing a double closing and that it's good to have one but not a necessity. 

A few years ago, I had to use a shared storage space out of necessity, it was the only available space in town to store my Mustang Cobra.  

Luckily, I was able to rent the single-family residence for a small monthly profit, so I became a landlord by necessity. 

I am looking to do this out of necessity, a number of local investors have a hard time with quality management that can do the field work as well as the office work.

Bottom line is the "professional" part of my life  rotates around  real estate being an absolute necessity.
