2) In a cash-refinance, let's say the new appraised value of the apartments is $1.8M, does this mean you can apply the $300k into the HELOC and not pay taxes?

We have 4 home and 1 lot in Pensacola, Florida which will appraise  at around 750k.

I would say more than anything its the lack of transparency from the borrower and appraisals coming in significantly low.

Also, if they require a full appraisal on a short term loan, that is an issue as well.

Also, what about appraisals?

It appraised at 170K.

The appraisal isn’t in our hands. 

My lawyer did a deep dive and discovered that it appears the county tax appraiser erroneously removed the husband from the title one year when updating the parcel tax record, probably incorrectly reading the divorce agreement and not actually looking up to see if a quit claim had been signed.

Which would be the entirety of my Heloc.my goal is to refinance 6-12 months to pay off heloc, but the property I’m purchasing I don’t believe will appraise above 130k at the time I want to refi.
