Luckily for them the same government that was imposing $50k/year worth of education taxes on her properties was the same one letting her tenants know that if they didn't pay rent there was nothing she could do.

A big difference with China is that they did impose lockdowns.

To coordinate with current tenants could be a challenge too as they may want to avoid unnecessary contact with others which I can totally understand.Any advice would be much appreciated. 

DO AWAY WITH RENT CONTROL AS WELL SO LANDLORDS CAN RAISE THEIR RENTS IN THE FUTURE TO MAKE UP FOR THIS GOVERNMENT IMPOSED RENT HOLIDAY WHEN THIS CRISIS IS OVER.THAT IS THE ONLY FAIR THING TO DO.

If you are looking towards redevelopment ever, you need to factor in not only costs to make the property useable in the meantime, but potential costs that would be imposed during a redevelopment process.

I'm not going to charge late fees, nor am I going impose any additional undue hardship on my tenants.
