I forgot to mention the first thing I did was to jump in the binary options but I realized that being a trader is a job with super flexible schedule, not an investment.

@Jeff Johnson , I also have a small, speculative portion of my investment portfolio - right now, it is all tied up in bitcoins, litecoins, peercoins, terracoins, and feathercoins (cryptocurrencies).

It's actually a very common strategy employed by successful stock traders.

BTW, profits on stock trading are taxed as ordinary income if you are a trader and capital gains if you're in for the long term.

Currently, I am a stocks and options trader and am very interested in real estate investing (other than REITS) such as flipping, wholesaling, rehabbing, and buy and holds.  

It's like not too long ago with bitcoin.
