In my market they just approved a large development for a secondary airport (Brown Field).  

I'm just going to suggest a few other areas of the city because you got a lot of great recommendations.You might want to consider East Boston because prices are still "affordable" in relation to other parts of the city, the main draw being the airport.

You do it every time you go to a Starbucks or an airport.

And remember I have joined the ranks of the furloughed or retired pilots.. 40 years flying around in those little bug smashers I figured i temped fate just about enough and am fine with all the fond memories.I did truly love flying into Pangborn though and the airport at Chelan that one is a little tricky.. 

Pros for the area:  Location & proximity to Downtown, the Pearl, Brackenridge Park, the Museum Reach, 7 mins to the airport, and walkable to San Antonio Community College. 

Being more affordable than the southeast, allows us to get in with a better basis and potential for growth as more people seek out affordable places to live with strong lifestyle amenities, and convenient travel available: major industries, all major sports, Delta Hub airport."

My family is located in MLB, and just purchased a second home there (south of the airport).

For strong rent and appreciation I stick within 15-20 minutes max of airport/rdu2.

In my market they just announced a long term, costly upgrade to an airport.
