When it comes to buying and selling, I am told by many to enter as a "principal" only and not a broker/trader; and start doing business with institutional investors for a variety of reasons: their immense access to capital, experience, and even some coaching along the way.

So many people will be out of work--the K-Mart, Trader Joe's, two or three hotels and several restaurants along with several other businesses are leveled.

A bit about me, I'm essentially a day trader in futures, and work graveyard at one of the largest strip properties in Vegas in the tech sector.

I tell people I'm a "day trader" who buys real estate instead of stocks.  

I am also an options trader, it helps me monetize some capital.

If I can get some help in structuring a deal so that the seller (who is a trader getting some amount of control over the asset from the bank, at the moment) doesn't circumvent me in order to be able to offer this distressed property.

Currently I work at Trader Joes, a job I love but need to think about retirement and building a portfolio.I attend local RE meetups when I can to meet other local investors but am looking forward to meeting other BP members!

I think it depends on the investor, but in general, you don't hear people talking about "Real Estate Traders" or "RE Speculators"   As the stock market turns nasty in the next 18 months (my prediction) I believe housing will suffer a bit.  

It's kind of like my friend in Brazil this year who asked me if she could make money with Cryptocurrency or Bitcoin?
