In my experience, it's more about doing the bookkeeping properly and not so much the CPA. 

@Nathan Gomes If you have somebody handling your books, ask if they offer 1099 filing (usually they do) since bookkeeping usually handle the majority of work so it should cause you just a little extra.

Happy New Year All -So one of my goals for 2019 is to get my book keeping much more organized, and while doing that I have a question I thought I would throw out to those more experienced than I. 5 years ago I left my full-time salary job to pursue self-employment as a home contractor as well as run our small portfolio (8 units) of rental properties.  

We have the tenant portion going well and are working on the book keeping side of things. 

I probably spend an hour or two a month on it, mostly bookkeeping or trying to pretend I’m needed. :-)

@Ryan Harrison you are willing to pay for a software our bookkeeper uses QuickBooks.

Using ical links on a google calendar for my housekeeping scheduling, and quickbooks for my bookkeeping and reporting.  

I have a full time bookkeeper who uses quickbooks.
